It is always exciting to thrift and come across a major designer. Even if you are not familiar with the designer, luxury clothing has a look and feel that is easily identifiable from the quality of the fabric to the construction. Alberta Ferretti is an Italian designer and entrepreneur who is a fashion world powerhouse. In 1968, at age 18, she opened her first boutique. While designing her own creations, she has a hand in the fashion production and manufacturing of such lines as Moschino and Emanuel Ungaro through a company she founded with her brother.
She is known to dress celebrities so it was not a complete surprise that the Alberta Ferretti dress Allison found at the Assistance League of the Desert in Cathedral City, CA, for $8 had been spotted on Drew Barrymore at an event in 2009. The thing about good fashion is that it is timeless. This off the shoulder, silk golden beauty plays just as well in Spring 2019 as it did 10 years ago. The only problem is I’m going to have to find an event for this dress.
